How to Use

For Aromatherapy

Add about 4-5 drops of Iryasa Ylang Ylang oil for every 100ml (3.3 fl.oz) of water in your diffuser. Its exotic, floral and musky aroma can turn around a negative emotion into a positive & joyful one.

You may need to increase/decrease the number of drops depending on the size of the room and where your diffuser is kept. For instance, you'd probably need less number of drops for a smaller or less ventilated room. Since the intensity of scents are such a personal preference, we recommend that you start with less and work your way up as needed.

For Topical Application

Ylang Ylang oil is known to improve scalp health and hair quality. Dilute 3 drops of Iryasa Ylang Ylang oil in 60ml (2 fl.oz) of Fractionated Coconut oil to make a ~0.2% dilution.

Apply a few drops of this blend onto the scalp and gently massage to improve circulation, enhance hair growth, condition the scalp and reduce hair fall.

Safety Precautions

General Precautions

  • All Iryasa Essential Oils are highly concentrated - always dilute with an appropriate carrier oil before topical use

  • Not for internal use, except if directed by an expert or a qualified practitioner

  • Never use undiluted essential oils near eyes or mucous membranes

  • Store in a cool, dark and dry place

  • Keep out of reach of children

  • If pregnant, lactating or under any medication, consult your physician before use

Specific to Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

  • We always recommend performing a patch test, especially if you are using Ylang Ylang oil for the first time on your skin.
  • This oil may cause irritation to sensitive or damaged skin. Do not use more than ~0.2% dilution.
  • When diffused, Ylang Ylang oil can be overpoweringly sweet for some (to the point of nausea). In such a situation, blend it with some sharper citrus oils to balance the scents.

Dilution Guide

Most websites/blogs mention about diluting essential oils before topical application. While this is correct, it is not sufficient!

Use the guide below to get started on your DIY blending journey.

Interpreting the charts

Step 1: As per age group, please take note of the recommended and maximum dilution percentages.

Step 2: Based on the amount of carrier oil, you can find the corresponding number of essential oil drops to be used to achieve the dilution you require e.g., for 1% dilution in 30ml of carrier oil, use 8 drops of same/different essential oils.

Precautions

Always perform a 24 hour period patch test at the recommended dilution levels or lesser, as per the age group to check for any allergic reaction or skin sensitivities.

While the dilution percentages work for most of our essential oils, we strongly recommend that you read the safety precautions listed for each oil before you craft the blend.
