How to Use

For Aromatherapy

Add about 4-5 drops of Iryasa Neroli essential oil for every 100ml (3.3 fl.oz) of water in a diffuser. This exotic oil is extremely versatile and can be used as an uplifting blend when combined with citrus oils such as Bergamot, Sweet Orange and as a calming & relaxing blend when combined with Frankincense.

You may need to increase/decrease the number of drops depending on the size of the room and where your diffuser is kept. For instance, you'd probably need less number of drops for a smaller or less ventilated room. Since the intensity of scents are such a personal preference, we recommend that you start with less and work your way up as needed.

For Topical Application

Neroli essential oil has a great reputation in skincare, especially for mature and sensitive skin.

Dilute 4 drops of Iryasa Neroli oil in 15ml (0.5 fl.oz) of Jojoba oil or Sweet Almond oil to make a 1% dilution.

Safety Precautions

General Precautions

  • All Iryasa Essential Oils are highly concentrated - always dilute with an appropriate carrier oil before topical use

  • Not for internal use, except if directed by an expert or a qualified practitioner

  • Never use undiluted essential oils near eyes or mucous membranes

  • Store in a cool, dark and dry place

  • Keep out of reach of children

  • If pregnant, lactating or under any medication, consult your physician before use

Specific to Neroli Essential Oil

  • We always recommend performing a patch test, especially if you are using Neroli oil for the first time on your skin
  • If you have a citrus allergy, do not use this oil as it is extracted from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve heard Neroli is an amazing oil with fantastic properties and a magnificent aroma, but I don't find the smell as interesting. Why is that?

Scents are very personal and every individual responds differently to different odours. Having said that, Neroli essential oil is extracted from the flowers of the bitter orange tree and has a beautiful, floral scent that is widely used in some of the most expensive perfumes. Its exquisite scent may not be apparent when tested undiluted or if you smell directly from the bottle. Just add it to a carrier oil or diffuse it to reveal its true aroma.

Is Neroli essential oil phototoxic?

While Neroli essential oil closely matches its citrus counterparts in terms of the therapeutic and medicinal properties, it is not phototoxic. It can be safely added into day creams, serums and oils.

Why is Neroli considered a 'romantic' oil?

Neroli is a perfect oil to diffuse for a romantic evening. It sets the mood and has also been traditionally used in wedding bouquets.

Dilution Guide

Most websites/blogs mention about diluting essential oils before topical application. While this is correct, it is not sufficient!

Use the guide below to get started on your DIY blending journey.

Interpreting the charts

Step 1: As per age group, please take note of the recommended and maximum dilution percentages.

Step 2: Based on the amount of carrier oil, you can find the corresponding number of essential oil drops to be used to achieve the dilution you require e.g., for 1% dilution in 30ml of carrier oil, use 8 drops of same/different essential oils.

Precautions

Always perform a 24 hour period patch test at the recommended dilution levels or lesser, as per the age group to check for any allergic reaction or skin sensitivities.

While the dilution percentages work for most of our essential oils, we strongly recommend that you read the safety precautions listed for each oil before you craft the blend.
