How to Use

For Aromatherapy

Add about 4-5 drops of Iryasa Sweet orange oil for every 100ml (3.3 fl.oz) of water in a diffuser to help ease depression, anxiety, mood swings and also sleeping difficulties.

You may need to increase/decrease the number of drops depending on the size of the room and where your diffuser is kept. For instance, you'd probably need less number of drops for a smaller or less ventilated room. Since the intensity of scents are such a personal preference, we recommend that you start with less and work your way up as needed.

For Topical Application

Dilute 8 drops of 100% pure Sweet Orange oil in 30ml (1 fl.oz) of Sweet Almond oil to make a 1% dilution.

Apply on face and body to help treat acne, skin irritations, wounds, cuts and abrasions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Sweet Orange and Neroli essential oils from the same plant?

No. While they are from the same genus, they are from different species of the same plant. Sweet Orange is the fruit of the sweet orange tree and the oil is extracted by cold pressing the peels of the fruit, whereas Neroli oil is extracted from the flower of the bitter orange tree by steam distillation.

I am sensitive to citrus, that does mean I will also be sensitive to citrus-based essential oils?

It is unlikely that you would have the same reaction to the essential oil as that to the fruit. However, it is important to be safe.

Please consult your physician before using an oil that may be a cause of concern. In addition, always perform a patch test to ensure no reactions as every person is different and may react differently to each essential oil.

What is the main constituent of Sweet Orange Essential Oil?

Sweet Orange Essential Oil, like most citrus oils contain monoterpene-hydrocarbons. Limonene is one of the key components of this oil and is a potent antioxidant that can help support the body’s own natural detoxification process.

Some of the other components contained in Sweet Orange Oil that nurture & support the overall well-being are Myrcene and Alpha-Pinene. These components give Sweet Orange oil its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antiviral and antibacterial properties.

Dilution Guide

Most websites/blogs mention about diluting essential oils before topical application. While this is correct, it is not sufficient!

Use the guide below to get started on your DIY blending journey.

Interpreting the charts

Step 1: As per age group, please take note of the recommended and maximum dilution percentages.

Step 2: Based on the amount of carrier oil, you can find the corresponding number of essential oil drops to be used to achieve the dilution you require e.g., for 1% dilution in 30ml of carrier oil, use 8 drops of same/different essential oils.

Precautions

Always perform a 24 hour period patch test at the recommended dilution levels or lesser, as per the age group to check for any allergic reaction or skin sensitivities.

While the dilution percentages work for most of our essential oils, we strongly recommend that you read the safety precautions listed for each oil before you craft the blend.
